- 2 bunches asparagus woody ends trimmed
- 80g 1 2 cup sesame seeds

- season the beef with salt and pepper place in a sealable plastic bag with the sumac and half the oil rub bag to coat the meat place in fridge for 1 hour to marinate drain meat
- meanwhile place the dates water tamarind and 1 tablespoon of the vinegar in a saucepan over medium high heat bring to the boil reduce heat to medium low and simmer for 7 minutes or until sauce thickens season with salt and pepper
